Phillip J. Hale, gifted musician for thirty years, will bring his trio to the library for an afternoon of jazz. 

Phil has backed international greats such as funk icon George Clinton, (Was not Was) sax man Dave McMurray, trumpet legend Marcus Belgrave, jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan, gospel greats The Ridgeway Sisters & recorded with the great Herbert Pickard. He's backed Pat Lewis of (Issac Hayes' Hot Buttered Soul), funk diva Belita Woods, Detroit phenomenon James Carter, R&B vocalist Bettye Lavette, Motown legend Martha Reeves, a number of respected jazz crooners… Probably best known as for his many years with vocalist Thornetta Davis, a gig which has taken him across many tours of Europe as well as the Midwest. Currently He's in his band The Phillip J. Hale Trio preforming Jazz.
