The R.J. Spangler Quintet, Detroit based artists, will perform a musical gumbo of swing, soul-jazz and New Orleans trad along with selections from the Great American Songbook.  

Percussionist RJ Spangler has been on the Detroit music scene for decades. Performing jazz and blues has taken him across the US, Canada and Europe. He is a longtime bandleader with particular knowledge of Detroit jazz & blues and the music of New Orleans. His musical partner, trumpeter James O'Donnell, is also a world travelled musician. The band is rounded out by veterans Oliver Nevels on guitar, Emem Obasi on double bass and Robert Sweet on drums.
