The Saginaw Trail: From Native American Path to Woodward Avenue
Wednesday, March 96:30—7:30 PMVirtual
Birmingham Museum Director Leslie Pielack will present a program based on her recent book, “The Saginaw Trail: From Native American Path to Woodward Avenue,” reflecting the early settlement of Michigan and the crucial role played by the Saginaw Trail, the only access into the territorial wilderness. The presentation will focus on stories of some of the people who helped give Oakland County its unique character, but especially those usually overlooked, such as local Indigenous People, pioneer women, and formerly enslaved people who settled and built our communities.
